Those times I was Easily Infuenced

Those Times I Was Easily Influenced

I'm not a person that is easily influenced by so called "influencers" or "content creators" on social media or Youtube. However, the odd time I might see someone with something on a Youtube video or in an Instagram video/reel that I feel like I need to try that product or item or I'm interested or intrigued by a product. Now, I'm not talking about Disney merchandise or wanting to go on a Disney trip. I don't need to watch a video to want either of those things. However, there were a couple of items I purchased recently that I saw in a couple of videos that I thought I'd try and do a review of them. I'm not the best at writing reviews so please bare with me.

1) Wild Lip balm

I heard about the brand "Wild" from a couple of content creators that I watch regularly (Brogan Tate, Sam4God and Victoriaindetail) and was very much intrigued. Wild started off as a reusable/refillable deodorant and then they started bringing out other items such as lip balm and body wash. It was the lip balm that I was very intrigued by as I am a lip balm girl. It is the one beauty product that I carry in my bag all the time and use daily. I usually use a Nivea one and have a tin of Vaseline for bedtime. However, I really, really wanted to try the Wild one, especially as I use lip balm every single day. I decided to bite the bullet and order the lip balm, using a discount code from Sam which got me 20% off. I ordered the ombre case and the coconut and vanilla lip balm as it sounded right up my street. I can't remember how much it cost me all together. I think it was around £9, including the postage. I had sold some items on Vinted, so I treated myself. I was very excited to receive it. It took around 5 days to come. I even received a free mini aloe Vera and mint deodorant. It was very easy to put the lip balm refill into the case and the coconut and vanilla scent smelt absolutely insane. it definitely was right up my street. At first I found it quite difficult to apply but the more I have used it, the more it has softened. I've now been using it for a good few months, probably over 10 months and I am completely in love with it. I use it everyday, especially when I'm working. I sometimes keep it in my work trouser pocket during my shift to top it up when needed. Although I am scared it'll fall out and I'll loose it. I ended up buying a pack of 3 refills on Amazon prime day for around £9. I also ordered two more refills on the official Wild online store too. I went for the vanilla frost and vanilla butterscotch refills this time, which cost me £4 each but I mentioned earlier, I did get 20% off my order. I am definitely a fan of the Wild lip balm and will continue to use it daily. I haven't been able to find it in any shops yet, though Boots do have a Chupa chups gift set with the same case as mine with three refills for £15 but I haven't seen it anywhere else yet.  I finally had to change my refill recently to the passion fruit swirl one which I purchased in my pack of 3 from Amazon. It smells amazing. The refill was really easy to change over. I do like the passion fruit one but the vanilla and coconut one is still my favourite so far.

2)Owala Water Bottle

A

I always take a water bottle to work with me with diluted juice in it so I'm always on the look out for decent water bottles that can keep my drinks cold for my 8 hour shift. In the past, I've sworn by the likes of the Built brand which I purchased in Menarys (shop I used to work in) and a brand called Bottle Bottle which I got off Amazon on prime day. I had heard about Owala from Brogan Tate who purchased her bottles in America from Target. I didn't think they were available in the UK but I saw on Brogan's Instagram stories that they were available on Amazon and were reduced on prime day. I decided to purchase one for £17 (usually £27), which I thought was a pretty decent price. I also found that they available in the UK now on the official website but are around £36. There are also Disney and Harry Potter ranges of bottles available. The Disney princess ones seem to be available on a website called www.beverable.com for £34.95. There is Cinderella, Tiana, Moana, Rapunzel and Ariel. I'd love to get the Rapunzel one someday when it's maybe a little cheaper. I did see some bottles that are identical to Owala in the likes of TK Maxx. I believe the brand is called Dexam and cost around £9.99. A shop called Dunnes also had one very similar for only £8 which I got for my sister, which she said was really good. So my review? I would put 4 ice cubes into it and fill it with juice before I leave for work for my shift. It would stay cold throughout my shift and 8 hours later, it would still be cold, with some of the ice cubes still un-melted. The only downside to the Owala water bottle is that it is quite a bulky, heavy bottle to carry around if you're out and about. It is perfect for work though, as it's only sitting out the back on the bench and it does have a handle for carrying. It definitely keeps my drinks cold and that's the main reason I like it so much. I do think the brand is slightly on the pricier side unless you get it on offer or on amazon prime day. I'm not sure of the price in America from the likes of Target but at the same time, I do think it is worth the price, especially for something I am using everyday.

3) Wild Stick Deodorant

As I mentioned before, I have been intrigued by Wild deodorant since I saw it mentioned in one of Brogan's vlogs on Youtube. I have debated about purchasing the deodorant many times but I've stopped myself. I then went online to the official Wild Website as I saw Victoria had a 20% off code in one of her videos so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. I've always used the Nivea spray deodorant and sometimes would change it up and use a Dove one. As much as I like those brands for keeping me feeling fresh, I was finding that the under arms of my t-shirts were turning black. I don't know if that's down to the deodorant mixed with sweat or not. I did want the dark pink case but sadly, it wasn't available. The ombre one to match my lip balm wasn't available either. I had seen quite a few different ones in shops, including the limited edition Paddington Bear one which is very cute but I didn't like the scent that came with it.  I ended up getting the love hearts case, though I am wishing I had gone for the pastel pink one instead. I ordered 3 different scents; Mint and aloe Vera, Vanilla bean and buttercream and the last one is the coconut and vanilla one. I nearly went for the caramel latte one but I wasn't sure I'd want my arm pits to smell like coffee. The refills on the website were £6.50 each and the case was £9.99. I do like the fact that you can get Wild stick deodorant in various shops now, such as Boots, Tescos, Sainsburys and Superdrug. I'm not sure of what the price difference is though. I do think the refills are around £4.50/£5.

In total for the stick deodorant case, 3 of the deodorant refills and 2 of the lip balm refills on the official website it cost me £37.94 but with the 20% discount, I saved £9.69. Though according to my confirmation email, I paid £4.96 in taxes and postage is £1.99 but it all came to £29.79 in total. I am a little confused by the price breakdown, not that maths is my strong point. The first refill I decided to use was the vanilla buttercream one. I did try the mint and aloe vera one but I struggled to get it to fit into my case. It is a lot harder to change the refills compared to the lipbalm. The vanilla bean and buttercream scent does smell amazing though. At the time of writing this, I've been using it for a few weeks now and I really like it. I only apply it once in the morning and don't feel like I need a top up of deodorant throughout the day. I'm not sure if that's because of the deodorant itself or maybe I'm not really sweating a lot at the moment (It's march as I write this). I keep forgetting to put it into my bag too. I do have the little mini one that was free with my lipbalm purchase which I haven't actually used yet. I thought I'd struggle with the stick deodorant as I'm so used to a spray but it's actually been fine. It applies easily too. The smell isn't overpowering too which is great. I like that you can purchase it in a version for sensitive skin. I haven't had any issues with irritation which is great. It'll be interesting to see how well it holds up coming into the warmer weather (if we get any here lol). I do wish I had shopped around though, as I've recently noticed Boots had some of the products on offer, such as the limited edition Emma Bridgewater polka dot case with my favourite scent; vanilla and coconut for only £11.25. I am very tempted to purchase another one to keep with me in my bag.

My wild haul; LIp balm with ombre case, mini mint and aloe vera deodorant, love hearts deodorant case, my 5 lip balm refills in peach and mango, passionfruit swirl, coconut and vanilla, vanilla frost and vanilla butterscotch. And my deodorant refills in coconut and vanilla, mint and aloe vera and vanilla bean and buttercream.

I'm definitely excited to keep using these products and would recommend them.
